A few years ago, I met this guy. I liked him. First came love. Then came marriage. Then came Mr. Cutie Patutie.

He (Mr. Cutie Patutie) was a little smaller then. Oh, and yes, I messed up that rhyme, so sue me 🙂 Just kidding! That would not be good Feng Shui. What is good Feng Shui is putting some wedding artwork in the relationship corner of your office. So allow me to expand.

My hubby and I met through a fix up. (Yes! Any ladies out there considering it, be open to it. You never know.) Our first date was at the Blackbird Cafe.

Now, let’s just fast forward to wedding planning or this will be a very long post! I wanted to be kinda theme-y and liked that some people had a wedding “logo” of sorts. Since my background is marketing, you can imagine that I was on board. Immediately. I found a couple of images via the web and then had my brother help me put them together to make a new image.

It was 2 blackbirds sitting on a branch. The subtleties are that the branch is really 2 coming together to be one, and then the last part of the branch looks like a heart.

We used this image on our invites…

On our programs…

On our giveaways (Decks of cards with stickers on them – we both enjoy playing cards, so that’s the connection there. Plus we like practical gifts!)…

And in our centerpieces. Which was actually done through the diligence and work of my Mother who created a pattern, cut them out with her band saw, painted them and put them on sticks. Then they were inserted into vases of varying heights and various green plants. Those were wrapped with wrapping paper cut to a small size to look like a ribbon and secured with stickers (in case anyone wants that much detail).

Back to current day…During this office redo, I took down some artwork from the wall in the corner of my office to put up my vision board. But wanted to make sure I kept something there that was relationship-y, due to the fact that it is the relationship area of my office (per the bagua in Feng Shui). So I created some artwork with our wedding logo.

I started with a blank canvas. Then printed our logo on some cute paper I had on hand. I cut the paper to the size of the canvas.

Then I put Modge Podge on the canvas and the back of the paper. Once it was on and placed well, I went over the top of the paper with Modge Podge and let it dry.

I was very happy with how it came out. Then I took one of the birds on sticks (I have several, or more precisely – more than several) and added it to a plant, which was – coincidentally – one from our wedding).

Someday I want a table in that corner, but for now I have a iron shelf to hold some inspirational things. I put the artwork on the bottom shelf inside a weaved tray with a basket we bought on our honeymoon and a vase I bought that I adore. I don’t know why, I just do. Then on the top shelf I put the plant.

I was wondering if it would be too wedding logo-y, but I don’t think it is. I like it a lot. Which is good, since I stare at it every-single-day when I sit at my desk. So that’s how our logo continues to live on and remind me of a very special day.

What about you? Are you using any wedding “stuff” in your current decor?
